PESHAWAR: Peshawar Region emerged victorious in the women’s cricket event of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-21 Games, defeating Mardan Region by 16 runs in a thrilling final. The match, played at the Secondary Board Ground, saw Peshawar score 71 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, while Mardan could only manage 56 runs for 9 wickets, giving Peshawar a well-earned win.
The championship was organized under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additional DG Sports Rashida Ghaznavi distributed prizes to the players at the conclusion of the match. Muntaz Khan, Raham Bibi, match umpire Parvez Khan, and other dignitaries were also present.
In the semi-finals, Peshawar defeated Bannu Region, and Mardan overcame Malakand Region to reach the final. The win adds to Peshawar Region’s impressive performance at the U-21 Games.
