DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Commissioner DI Khan Division Daud Khan formally inaugurated the spring tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at his office premises on the pleasant arrival of the spring season in Dera Ismail Khan.
Assistant to Commissioner (Political and Development) Sajjad Baloch, along with a large number of officers and staff of the Forest Department, was also present on the occasion.
Speaking after planting the sapling, Commissioner Daud Khan stated that the spring season symbolizes renewal and hope, adding that tree plantation is a guarantee of a safe and secure future for coming generations. He emphasized that maximum plantation is the need of the hour to tackle environmental pollution and climate change challenges.
He further remarked that planting trees in government offices, educational institutions, and public places not only enhances environmental beauty but also promotes awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility among citizens. He urged every citizen to plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its proper care.
During the ceremony, office staff planted various types of saplings and pledged to ensure their regular maintenance. The Commissioner directed the concerned departments to strictly monitor the ongoing tree plantation campaign across the city to ensure maximum plantation targets are achieved.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the country’s development, prosperity, and a greener Pakistan.
