PESHAWAR: In a welcome step for the welfare of the artistic community, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has started distributing a special Ramadan package among artists in Peshawar.
According to officials, a total amount of Rs 6.85 million has been distributed among artists so far. Under the initiative, Rs 12,500 has been provided to each of 500 artists as financial support during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative was taken after a formal request was submitted for the provision of a special Ramadan relief package for artists of Peshawar. The proposal was forwarded through a letter to the Secretary Social Welfare.
Director General Tourism Authority Usman Mehsud, Director Culture Halima Iqbal, and Deputy Director Haseena Shaukat played a role in facilitating the process.
Artists have been informed that the distribution of the Ramadan package has now started as per routine. Those facing any issue regarding their artist identity card or registration number have been advised to contact the office of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar for assistance.
Officials described the initiative as an important step toward supporting the artist community and ensuring financial relief during the blessed month of Ramadan.
