Peshawar: A dignified tool kit distribution ceremony was organized at Habiba Beauty Salon and Academy with the support of Helvetas and Swiss Solidarity, where tool kits were distributed among 25 trained girls from the beautician trade and 25 from the tailoring trade. The purpose of the event was to provide skilled girls with opportunities for dignified employment and enable them to become economically self-reliant.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Director of the Labour Department Saad ur Rahman, Dr. Nayab from the Child Protection Unit, Haseeb Khan from the Home Department, journalist Amjad Hadi Yousafzai, representatives of partner organizations, teachers, project staff, and students. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which the institution’s Principal, Dr. Sajid Ullah, welcomed the guests.
In his address, Dr. Sajid Ullah highlighted the importance of vocational training for girls, stating that technical skills play a vital role in making women self-sufficient and helping them attain a respectable position in society.
Assistant Director Labour Department Saad ur Rahman said that the Labour Department regulates relations and issues between employers and workers according to the law, making awareness of rights and responsibilities essential for these trained girls.
Dr. Nayab from the Child Protection Unit appreciated the efforts being made in the fields of community development and child protection, stating that the organization has adopted a comprehensive strategy for the protection and welfare of children and women.
Project Manager Shazia Hina gave a detailed introduction to the ongoing project being implemented with the support of Helvetas and Swiss Solidarity. She explained that the program aims to equip girls with practical skills so they can secure dignified livelihoods and play confident, independent roles in society.
During the ceremony, the trainees who had completed their training shared their experiences and described the program as a positive turning point in their lives. They said that the training and provision of tool kits would enable them to stand on their own feet and earn respectable livelihoods.
Later, tool kits were distributed among 50 trained girls from the beautician and tailoring trades. Participants termed the initiative an important milestone toward a brighter future for girls and stressed the need to continue such welfare and vocational training programs.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the organizers thanked the chief guests, distinguished participants, and all attendees, reaffirming their commitment to continuing similar welfare and training initiatives for the empowerment and well-being of women and girls in the future.
