BRASILIA: A grand and dignified ceremony was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Brasilia to mark the completion of one year of the “War of Truth,” with enthusiastic participation from diplomats, community leaders, students, businessmen and overseas Pakistanis residing in Brazil.
The ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador Murad Ashraf Janjua, Defense Attaché Brigadier Tariq Naeem Athar, embassy officials, Pakistani Community President Zulfikar Ahmed Maxi, community leaders, businessmen Waqar Ahmed, Sharafat Ali, Amir Khan Kashmiri, Omar Gujar, students and a large number of Pakistanis living in Brazil.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem of Pakistan. Speakers highlighted the historical importance of the “War of Truth,” Pakistan’s defense achievements, national unity and the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs. They emphasized that the Pakistani nation has always demonstrated courage, unity and resilience during challenging times.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Murad Ashraf Janjua said that overseas Pakistanis are the true ambassadors of the country who promote Pakistan’s positive image worldwide through their dedication, hard work and achievements. He added that national events help overseas Pakistanis remain connected with their history, culture and national values. He appreciated the active participation of the Pakistani community and termed it a reflection of strong patriotism and national solidarity.

Defense Attaché Brigadier Tariq Naeem Athar paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and stated that the armed forces have always safeguarded the country in line with the aspirations of the nation. He said the sacrifices of national heroes would always be remembered with pride.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistani Community President Zulfikar Ahmed Maxi expressed complete solidarity with Pakistan on behalf of the community residing in Brazil. He said the remembrance of the struggle for truth teaches unity, sacrifice, determination and love for the homeland. He assured that the Pakistani community would continue to actively participate in national events alongside the embassy.
National songs were presented during the ceremony while participants raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.” Special prayers were also offered for the security, stability, prosperity and development of Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded in a patriotic and enthusiastic atmosphere. A dinner was later hosted in honor of the participants, where community members interacted and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening unity and national harmony among overseas Pakistanis.
