ISLAMABAD:Iqra University celebrated the achievements of its graduating students during the Convocation Ceremony held at the Islamabad Convention Centre. The ceremony marked a significant academic milestone for 538 graduates from the Islamabad H-9 and Chak Shahzad campuses, including students from undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Degrees were awarded across multiple disciplines, including Computing & Technology, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Fashion & Design, and Media Studies.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. Addressing the graduates, he emphasized the importance of education in national development and encouraged students to use their knowledge and skills with responsibility and purpose.
“Education is not only a personal achievement but also a responsibility towards society and the nation,” he stated while urging graduates to contribute positively to Pakistan’s future through innovation, integrity, and professional excellence.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Nassar Ikram congratulated the graduating class and acknowledged the efforts of students, parents, and faculty members. He noted that the convocation represented not just academic success, but also perseverance, dedication, and personal growth.
“Our graduates are stepping into professional life with the knowledge, confidence, and values needed to make meaningful contributions in their respective fields,” he said.
Campus Director Ibrahim Khan encouraged students to view challenges as opportunities for growth and leadership. He also appreciated the management for organizing such an impactful and well-executed event.
The university awarded gold medals to 61 high-achieving students in recognition of their outstanding academic performance. Among the graduates were eight PhD scholars who successfully completed their doctoral studies.
The event was attended by faculty members, parents, distinguished guests, and university officials, making it a memorable occasion for the graduating class. The convocation proceedings were organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eatzaz and Deputy Registrar Asif Mahmood Jasra.
The ceremony also paid tribute to the late Hunaid Lakhani, whose vision for accessible and quality higher education continues to inspire the institution’s academic mission.
