BHIMBER: A grand joining ceremony organized by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held in Bhimber, where Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain, son of former President of Azad Kashmir Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Khan, along with his family, friends, and thousands of supporters, formally joined PML-N.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam.
Addressing the gathering, Engineer Amir Muqam welcomed Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain and his associates into the party, calling their inclusion a reflection of the public’s trust in PML-N. He said the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif is steering the country toward development, stability, and public prosperity, adding that PML-N will soon form the government in Azad Kashmir as well.
The Federal Minister stated that he had visited Bhimber to review the progress of the Danish School project, which he said would soon be completed as a gift from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the people of the region. He also announced that five Danish Schools would be established across Azad Kashmir, while the Muzaffarabad–Mansehra and Mirpur Expressway projects are also under consideration.
Engineer Amir Muqam emphasized that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable, praising the courage and spirit shown by the Kashmiri people during the recent “Battle for Truth.” He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan successfully thwarted enemy designs and enhanced its positive image internationally.
He further stated that wherever PML-N has come to power, it has delivered development projects, and similar progress on the Punjab model would also be introduced in Azad Kashmir. He praised the development initiatives undertaken in Punjab under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz.
Speaking on the occasion, PML-N Azad Kashmir President Shah Ghulam Qadir congratulated Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain and his supporters on joining the party, describing former President Raja Zulqarnain Khan as a dignified and compassionate personality. He also demanded that the schedule for Azad Kashmir elections be announced immediately.
PML-N Azad Kashmir General Secretary Chaudhry Tariq Farooq said that the federal government has already launched several development projects in Azad Kashmir in line with the vision of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. He termed the inclusion of Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain and his supporters a positive sign for the party.
Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan also congratulated Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain, saying his arrival would further strengthen the party.
In his speech, Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain thanked the central leadership of PML-N and said it had been the wish of his father, former President Raja Zulqarnain Khan, that he join PML-N. He expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz Sharif, adding that he was beginning a new political journey.
Former MNA Chaudhry Abid Raza, President of PML-N Gujranwala Division, also addressed the gathering and expressed confidence that PML-N would secure victory across the entire Mirpur Division in the upcoming elections.
A large number of party leaders, office-bearers, workers, and members of the public attended the ceremony. Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam received a warm welcome upon his arrival. At the conclusion of the event, he presented Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain with a PML-N cap and scarf.
