PROVINCE REPORT
PESHAWAR: More than 30 bikers set off from Peshawar on an adventure rally to Siran Valley, Mansehra, organized jointly by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and Peshawar Bikers. The initiative aims to promote lesser-known tourist destinations, encourage adventure tourism, and foster responsible travel among young people.
Before the departure, Director General KP Culture and Tourism Authority, Shahid Khan, met with the participating bikers and highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to tourism development. He said that under the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Malik Adil Iqbal, practical measures are being taken to promote tourism across the province.
“The promotion of tourism and encouragement of positive youth activities remain among the government’s top priorities. We are extending full support to initiatives that help showcase the natural beauty and tourism potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Shahid Khan said.
He informed that the bikers would travel through GT Road, Haripur and Sajjikot before reaching Siran Valley, where a tent village will be established. During the expedition, participants will highlight the valley’s scenic landscapes, tourism opportunities and unexplored attractions through various digital and social media platforms. The DG Tourism Authority further stated that the initiative is not limited to tourism promotion alone but also carries an environmental message. The bikers will participate in tree plantation and cleanliness drives in Siran Valley to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Peshawar Bikers representative Ubaid Siddiqui said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is blessed with immense natural beauty and that the biking community can play a significant role in introducing hidden tourist gems to a wider audience. He added that several unexplored destinations in Siran Valley would be promoted nationally and internationally through social media and other communication channels. Another participant, Sajid Ali, appreciated the support extended by the KP Tourism Authority and said that partnerships between public institutions and youth groups are essential for the promotion of adventure and community-based tourism in the province. He noted that such activities not only contribute to the growth of domestic tourism but also help generate economic opportunities, create employment, and project a positive image of remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
