KOHAT: The central 7th Muharram procession in Kohat concluded peacefully on Wednesday under strict security arrangements and continuous monitoring by civil and police authorities.
Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir and District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi, visited the central Command Post to review security measures and oversee monitoring operations across the district.
Authorities utilized a comprehensive network of CCTV cameras installed throughout Kohat city, suburban areas, procession routes and congregation sites to assess the security situation and track developments in real time.
The procession followed its traditional routes and concluded without any untoward incident. Heavy police deployment remained in place along procession routes and at key entry and exit points, while security personnel stayed on high alert throughout the event.
Officials from the district administration, police and other departments worked round the clock at the Command Post, using advanced surveillance systems to monitor processions and religious gatherings and ensure public safety.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and providing a peaceful and secure environment for all Muharram-related activities.
