BATKHELA: The Malakand Regional Swimming Association, in collaboration with the District Sports Office Malakand, organised the first-ever Independence Day swimming event in Malakand Division.
Swimmers from different areas of Malakand Division and Chitral participated in various categories and displayed their skills. A large number of athletes, sports officials and spectators attended the event.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Swimming Association General Secretary Javed Marwat, Malakand Regional Swimming Association President Nasir Hussain, General Secretary Sabir Khan, Finance Secretary Umar Hayat and Executive Member Waheed Gul were among the prominent participants.
At the conclusion, medals, certificates and prizes were distributed among the position holders in recognition of their performances.
The organisers described the event as an important milestone for promoting swimming in Malakand Division and said similar competitions would be organised in the future to provide athletes with greater opportunities.
The association office-bearers thanked the participating swimmers, athletes and spectators for their enthusiastic support in making the event successful.
