PESHAWAR: Hamza Foundation has achieved an important milestone in blood transfusion services by successfully preparing Cryoprecipitate (CP) and Cryo-Supernatant (CS) at its facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Cryoprecipitate is a specialized blood component prepared from donated plasma and contains concentrated clotting proteins, including fibrinogen and Factor VIII. Compared with Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), it provides specific clotting factors in a smaller volume, helping patients receive the required component without unnecessary plasma volume.
Cryo-Supernatant is the plasma remaining after cryoprecipitate is removed and may be used for specific medical conditions on the recommendation of qualified doctors.
The development reflects Hamza Foundation’s commitment to improving blood transfusion services and expanding access to specialized blood products for patients across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
