Islamabad: Nobel Peace Prize laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai has launched a global initiative to promote and support women’s participation in sports.
The project, titled “Recess,” was officially launched on Tuesday by Malala and her husband, Asser Malik. Recess aims to empower both professional and amateur women’s sports teams by providing resources, visibility, and opportunities — making it easier for more women and girls to enter and thrive in the world of sports.
The initiative reflects Malala’s continued commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment, now expanding her advocacy from education to the sports arena.
