Dera Ismail Khan: In the wheat scandal, the Anti-Corruption Department Dera has registered a case against officers and officials of the Food Department and arrested one accused official.
According to details, the Anti-Corruption Department of Dera Ismail Khan registered a case against five former officers and officials of the Food Department allegedly involved in the wheat scandal that surfaced four years ago. An Assistant Food Controller was arrested and sent to jail on court orders.
Several complaints had been received regarding wheat warehouses of the Food Department, alleging embezzlement of wheat stocks and corruption.
Officials said one accused has been arrested, while written permission has been sought from the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the arrest of other officers and officials. They added that all remaining accused will be arrested soon.
