ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates marked the International Day of Women in Diplomacy by celebrating the achievements and contributions of Emirati women serving in diplomatic roles and advancing the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States.

In a statement issued on the occasion, the UAE highlighted the role of women at its embassy and diplomatic missions, noting their contributions to policy discussions, bilateral engagement and efforts to strengthen one of the region’s most significant international relationships.

According to official figures, women constitute 49 percent of the workforce of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and hold 30 percent of senior leadership positions, reflecting the country’s commitment to promoting gender inclusion and women’s leadership in diplomacy.

The UAE emphasized that Emirati women continue to serve in distinguished positions across global capitals and international organizations, representing the country and contributing to the advancement of its foreign policy objectives.

Officials noted that the success of Emirati women in diplomacy demonstrates the UAE’s long-term vision of empowering women through opportunity, leadership development and active participation in decision-making processes.

The statement reaffirmed that empowering women in diplomacy is a reality achieved through strong political commitment and a forward-looking national vision, enabling women to play an increasingly influential role on the international stage.

The UAE also praised the contributions of women diplomats worldwide and reiterated its commitment to supporting greater participation of women in international affairs and global diplomacy.
