PESHAWAR : A spare parts trader, Juma Khan son of Ziarat Gul, a resident of Habibabad within the limits of Yakatoot Police Station, and his family have allegedly received death threats for refusing to pay extortion money.

According to the affected trader, unknown individuals have been making repeated threatening calls from a foreign number. Following the threats, he submitted an application to Yakatoot Police Station on August 24, 2025, requesting legal action against the person making calls from the said number. Police recorded the matter in the daily diary, but the alleged threats reportedly continued.

Juma Khan stated that due to the continuous threats and fear for their safety, he was forced to shift to Karachi along with his entire family. However, even after relocation, the threatening calls allegedly did not stop.

He has demanded that Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chaudhry Zulfiqar Hameed and Capital City Police Officer Peshawar Dr. Mian take immediate notice of the matter and ensure effective action against the alleged criminals to provide protection to the affected family.
