PESHAWAR: The inaugural Shams-ul-Qamar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Squash Championship concluded at the Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, Qayyum Stadium, Peshawar.
On the final day, Fahad Arif won the Boys Under-15 title after defeating Atif Ali 3-0 with scores of 11-3, 11-8 and 11-9.
In the Boys Under-17 final, Muhammad Fawad Khan edged out Anas Ali Sajjad 3-2 in a thrilling contest. Fawad won 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 12-10 and 11-4.
Former world squash champion and legend Qamar Zaman was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Squash legend Mohibullah Khan, KP Squash Association Finance Secretary Wazir Muhammad and tournament sponsor Tanveer Khan were also present.
The championship was organised under the supervision of Chief Organiser and Directorate Coach Munawar Zaman. Coach Muhammad Wasim and KP physical coach Fazal Khalil also played key roles in organising the event and guiding the players.
At the conclusion, the chief guest and other dignitaries distributed trophies and prizes among the successful players and appreciated the efforts of the runners-up, coaches, officials and organisers.
