RABAT: King Mohammed VI of Morocco has condemned repeated attacks by Houthi militias against Saudi Arabia, stressing that any aggression against the Kingdom constitutes an aggression against Morocco.
According to a statement issued by the Royal Office, the Moroccan King sent messages to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia amid the attacks.
King Mohammed VI expressed deep concern over attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities, vital infrastructure, cities and residential areas in Saudi Arabia. He also condemned attempts to target the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, describing such acts as violations of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.
The Moroccan monarch said the attacks against Saudi Arabia represent not only aggression against the Kingdom and its people but also an affront to Muslims worldwide and a violation of Islamic values advocating peace, tolerance and respect for human life and holy places.
He affirmed Morocco’s condemnation of the attacks and held the Houthi militias and those supporting, funding and arming them responsible.
King Mohammed VI stressed that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are inseparable from Morocco’s security and stability. He reaffirmed Morocco’s support for Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf states in confronting threats to their security and regional stability.
The King also expressed concern over threats to regional stability and vital maritime routes, saying that continued attacks violate international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
He specifically cited UN Security Council Resolutions 2216 (2015) and 2722 (2024), saying that attacks on civilian areas, economic infrastructure, holy sites and maritime navigation constitute violations of international humanitarian law and international conventions.
