PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Aftab Alam has on Friday assured the displaced families of Tor Chappar in Darra Adam Khel that the provincial government is fully committed to their welfare and is taking practical steps to ensure their safe and dignified return at the earliest.
During a visit to the displaced persons’ relief camp, the Minister met the affected families, listened to their concerns and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to restore peace and facilitate their rehabilitation. Accompanying him were DC Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, AC Tanzeel ur Rahman, PTI Tehsil President Haji Abid ur Rahman and local tribal elders.
Alam said the establishment of lasting peace and the safe return of displaced residents remain top priorities for the provincial government. He stressed that every effort would be made to restore Tor Chappar families to their native areas as soon as possible.
The minister also called on the security agencies, including the military, to maintain close coordination with local elders during operations, ensure the protection of innocent civilians and focus actions solely on elements involved in militancy.
“Being a native of Darra Adam Khel myself, lasting peace in the area is both a personal and governmental priority,” Alam said, pledging continued efforts to achieve stability in the region.
Members of the Tor Chappar tribe and residents of Darra Adam Khel thanked the Minister Alam for visiting the camp and appreciated his commitment to addressing the concerns of displaced families and promoting peace in the area.
