PESHAWAR: The Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released details of expenditure on sports activities during the fiscal year 2025-26, revealing that over Rs425.4 million was spent on various sporting events and development initiatives across the province.
According to the report, Rs800 million had been allocated for sports activities. Of this, Rs425.4 million was utilized, while Rs174.6 million remained unspent. Another Rs200 million was re-appropriated for other requirements.
The report shows that the KP Men and Women Inter-Regional Games received the highest allocation, with Rs247.67 million spent. Rs32 million was utilized for the National Junior Championship, while funding was also provided for Inter-Madaris Games, Persons with Disabilities Games, Minority Youth Sports Gala, and sports festivals for children from welfare institutions.
Expenditure was also made on national day celebrations, Ramadan cricket and football tournaments, the Bannu Kabaddi Cup, educational assistance for deserving athletes, cash awards for medal winners, athlete sponsorships, and competitions held at tehsil, district, regional, provincial, and national levels.
The report reflects the government’s continued investment in promoting sports and supporting athletes throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
