PAEI Seeks Greater Pakistan-Bangladesh Trade Through Dhaka Expo

DHAKA: The 4th Made in Pakistan Exhibition & Business Investment Conference, organized by the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI), was inaugurated at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to promote bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation.
Arif Hussain, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau, inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, PAEI Founder Chairman Khurshid Barlas, Chairman Fahad Barlas and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh. PAEI Chairman Fahad Barlas welcomed the guests and participants.
Addressing the ceremony, Fahad Barlas said the exhibition would strengthen business linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the SAARC region and exploring new opportunities for economic growth and development.
Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider congratulated the PAEI leadership on organizing the exhibition, describing it as an important milestone in strengthening economic and commercial relations between the two countries.
Arif Hussain said the exhibition provided an important platform for regional integration and the promotion of Pakistani products in Bangladesh. He stressed the need to encourage initiatives aimed at expanding trade, investment and business opportunities.
PAEI Founder Chairman Khurshid Barlas said the exhibition aimed to introduce Pakistani products to Bangladeshi consumers and international buyers. Highlighting the importance of the textile and apparel sectors in both countries, he called for further efforts to enhance exports and bilateral trade.
He also highlighted opportunities for women entrepreneurs in both countries, particularly through Bangladesh’s developing textile industry and Pakistan’s expanding retail market.
A diverse range of Pakistani products, including textiles, food items, electrical appliances, kitchenware, footwear, household goods, gems and jewellery, fashion products, machinery, handicrafts and tourism services, were showcased at the exhibition.
The event attracted more than 5,000 visitors and delegates, who expressed keen interest in Pakistani products and business opportunities.
At the conclusion, shields were presented to distinguished personalities in recognition of their contributions and performance. The awards were presented by representatives of PAEI and other distinguished guests.
The exhibition provided Pakistani companies and brands with an opportunity to explore new markets, develop business partnerships and strengthen economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
