SWAT: Commissioner Malakand Division, Masood Ahmad, has stated that construction work on the Swat Motorway Phase II is underway at a cost of billions of rupees, and directives have been issued to accelerate progress. Contractors and relevant officials have been summoned to ensure that both speed and quality are maintained throughout the project.
Speaking at his office during a meeting with Swat Press Club Chairman Fazal Rahim Khan and Swat Union of Journalists President Shehzad Alam, the Commissioner highlighted that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will soon lay the foundation stone of this major public project. He added that the completion of Phase II will open new avenues of development in Swat, boost tourism, and positively impact the local economy.
Commissioner Masood Ahmad described the motorway as a transformative project for the region, noting that it will not only facilitate travel for tourists but also enhance opportunities for local businesses. He stressed that Swat’s geographical importance and natural beauty make this project a milestone for tourism promotion.
He further emphasized that no compromise will be made on construction standards and that public interest will remain the top priority. According to him, timely completion of the motorway will benefit not only Swat but the entire Malakand Division, steering the region towards prosperity and sustainable growth.
