ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s experienced squash coach Zahid Gul is set to travel to Perth, Australia, to compete in the World Masters Squash Championship 2026, scheduled from August 30 to September 6.
Zahid Gul’s participation marks a significant chapter in his long association with Pakistan squash. Known for his passion for the sport and commitment to nurturing young talent, he has played an important role in helping Pakistani players compete at the international level.
Among the prominent players associated with his coaching career is Hamza Khan, who created history in 2023 by becoming the World Junior Squash Champion. The achievement reflected not only Hamza Khan’s talent and determination but also the efforts of his coaches and support team.
Zahid Gul has consistently emphasized the importance of proper guidance, discipline, confidence and international exposure for young Pakistani squash players. He believes Pakistan possesses immense talent that can excel at the highest level with the right support and opportunities.
After years of developing and mentoring players, Zahid Gul will now compete himself on the international stage in Perth. The championship will bring together Masters players from around the world and provide him an opportunity to represent Pakistan and strengthen links within the global squash community.
His participation is both a personal sporting achievement and a continuation of his contribution to Pakistan squash. The squash community has wished Coach Zahid Gul success and expressed hope that he will return from Australia with another proud achievement for Pakistan.
