  • Somali Foreign Minister joins Pakistani diaspora and Somali alumni to celebrate enduring educational and cultural ties.

Islamabad– The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Pakistan has extended its warm welcome and appreciation for a Ramadan Iftar gathering organized in Mogadishu by the SomPak Community, an organization representing members of the Pakistani-Somali community and Somali professionals educated in Pakistan.

The dignified event, held in the spirit of the holy month, served as a testament to the deep-rooted educational and people-to-people connections that bind the two nations. It brought together a distinguished assembly of Somali professionals and scholars who pursued their higher education in Pakistani institutions, highlighting the longstanding academic exchange between the two countries.

The gathering was honored by the presence of H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He was joined by Mr. Ibrahim Guure, Director of Diaspora Affairs, and Mr. Mohamed Mahmud Allaale, Director of Communications at the Ministry, who attended alongside members of the Pakistani diaspora currently residing in Mogadishu.

In his keynote remarks, Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali underscored the invaluable role that Somali graduates of Pakistani universities play in strengthening bilateral cooperation. He emphasized their contribution to expanding educational exchange and nurturing the historic friendship between Somalia and Pakistan, describing them as vital bridges between the two cultures.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation further commended the SomPak Community for organizing the gathering and for their consistent efforts in promoting grassroots engagement. Held during the holy month of Ramadan, the Iftar was a powerful reflection of the shared values of unity, dialogue, and solidarity, reaffirming the enduring bonds of friendship between the peoples of Somalia and Pakistan.
