ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, defence, and strategic partnership during celebrations marking Egypt’s National Day in Islamabad.

The reception, hosted by Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan, was attended by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan as the chief guest, along with Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce Rana Ehsan Afzal, senior diplomats, government officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.

In his address, Ambassador Ihab highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two countries and noted that recent high-level exchanges, including reciprocal visits by the foreign ministers, have given fresh momentum to bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that both nations would transform their strong political ties into meaningful economic cooperation.

Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan conveyed the greetings of Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister to the people and government of Egypt, describing Egypt as a key partner in the Arab world. He said both countries have significant potential to expand cooperation in trade, industry, defence, energy, and investment, adding that Egyptian companies have shown interest in Pakistan’s real estate, power, and other sectors.

Rana Ehsan Afzal emphasized the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt, saying both countries are committed to strengthening strategic partnerships in investment, technology, and industrial collaboration while leveraging their regional positions to promote long-term economic growth and prosperity.
