Karachi: With artists from around 150 countries expected to participate in the upcoming World Culture Festival 2026, Karachi Police Chief has directed police officials to ensure comprehensive security and traffic arrangements for the month-long event, emphasising the need to facilitate participants’ movement while minimising disruption for city residents.

Azad Khan chaired a meeting during his visit to the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi to review arrangements for the festival scheduled to take place from October 29 to November 22. The meeting was attended by Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah, DIG Traffic, DIG South, SSP District South, the SSU commandant and an SP from the Special Branch.

The meeting reviewed security measures, traffic management and arrangements to ensure smooth movement for festival participants and visitors. The Karachi police chief directed the officers to formulate and implement a coordinated plan to maintain effective security, ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and prevent inconvenience to both participants and the public.

He stressed the importance of comprehensive planning and coordination among the relevant departments to ensure the festival proceeded smoothly and safely. Following the meeting, Azad Khan, accompanied by Ahmed Shah, visited various departments of the Arts Council and reviewed ongoing activities and administrative arrangements.

The third edition of the World Culture Festival is expected to feature more than 1,000 international artists arriving in Pakistan, alongside over 500 Pakistani artists, bringing together performers from across the world for a major cultural event in Karachi.
