LAHORE: Musawi is proud to announce its partnership with the Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focused on strengthening legal aid, protection services, and advancing policy reform for women across Punjab.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Hina Parvez Butt, Chairperson PWPA, and Barrister Khadija Yasmin Bokhari, Director Litigation & Advocacy at Musawi. This partnership represents a significant step towards coordinated efforts for the protection and empowerment of women’s rights in the province.
Under this collaboration, Musawi will work closely with PWPA to:
•Provide free legal aid to survivors of violence and abuse.
•Strengthen and improve the quality of shelter services for women in need.
•Support the effective implementation of key laws, including the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016.
•Lead joint campaigns against gender-based violence, child marriage, and forced marriage.
This partnership underscores the shared commitment of Musawi and PWPA to create a safer, more just environment for women in Punjab.
