MARDAN: The Department of Political Science, Women University Mardan, organized a seminar titled “Pakistan–China Friendship at 75: Education, Economy & Emerging Opportunities” in collaboration with Pakistan–China Window, Peshawar Centre, to commemorate the enduring bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

Professor Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She described Pakistan–China friendship as “higher than mountains, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey,” and highlighted that CPEC Phase-II and Special Economic Zones will open new avenues for youth, particularly women. She reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening academic and cultural linkages with China.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Khalid Khan, a Synoptic Systems Architect and Sustainable Development Strategist, who highlighted the historical evolution of Pak–China relations and the role of higher education and innovation in CPEC.

Mr. Amjad Aziz Malik, Administrator Pakistan–China Window and a veteran journalist, spoke on CPEC projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and emphasized the importance of youth engagement.

Ms. Naz Parveen, Director Pakistan–China Window and an emerging columnist, highlighted the role of women in strengthening people-to-people ties and promoting cultural diplomacy.

The seminar was organized by Dr. Nelofar Ikram, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, who also shared insights on the strategic importance of Pakistan–China partnership and academic opportunities for students.

A cake-cutting ceremony was held to mark 75 years of Pakistan–China diplomatic relations, followed by the distribution of commemorative shields among the distinguished speakers.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to further strengthen Pakistan–China cooperation through academic collaboration and active youth participation.
