DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Dawood Khan chaired a special meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC) to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram 2026.

The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maken, Deputy Commissioners of Dera Ismail Khan and Tank, senior officials of the police, Pakistan Army, CTD, FIA, Special Branch, PESCO and other relevant departments.

The participants reviewed the law and order situation, security measures, intelligence coordination, monitoring of sensitive locations, traffic management, emergency medical facilities and uninterrupted power supply during Muharram.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Dawood Khan stressed that effective coordination among all institutions was essential for ensuring the peaceful observance of Muharram. He directed officers to strictly implement security plans, enhance surveillance at sensitive places and remain fully prepared to respond to any emergency.

He said Muharram also provides an opportunity to promote interfaith harmony, tolerance and brotherhood, emphasizing the need to strengthen unity among different schools of thought. The commissioner appealed to religious scholars, peace committees, civil society and the public to cooperate fully with the administration and law enforcement agencies.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all departments to utilize available resources for maintaining law and order and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. Commissioner Dawood Khan appreciated the performance of all institutions and directed officials to further strengthen coordination, monitoring and field presence throughout Muharram.
