CHICAGO: Pakistan’s Consul General in Chicago, Zaman Mehdi, presented a Made-in-Pakistan football to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson as a symbol of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United States during an event organized by the Sonia Shah Organization.

Coinciding with the FIFA World Cup being hosted in the United States, the Consul General said the football showcased Pakistan’s globally acclaimed craftsmanship, skill, and manufacturing excellence. He noted that Pakistani-made footballs not only represent national pride but also symbolize the unifying power of sports in bringing people and communities together.

Addressing the gathering, Consul General Mehdi highlighted the shared aspirations linking communities across Chicagoland, the wider Midwest, and Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of education, equal opportunities for future generations, the dignity of work, inclusion, and public service, while acknowledging the vital role of the Pakistani-American community in strengthening bilateral relations.

The Consul General thanked Mayor Brandon Johnson for his warm engagement and for celebrating the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United States.
